A Place to Study

Your eyes tire easily so make sure there is plenty of light. A table lamp is ideal. Check that you are not casting a shadow on your work surface.

Do not study with the TV on. You will be continually distracted.

Do not sit close to a window. You may be distracted by what is going on outside.

Some students prefer to have quiet music on in the background. It sometimes helps mask other outside noises, which may distract you. However, remember that you will not be able to study properly with too much noise going on.

You should have all your study items ready before you start pens, pencils, rulers, rubbers, papers and books. If you are always getting up from your seat then you will be wasting valuable study time.

Having a set place to study will get you more quickly into a study habit.

Some study can be done almost anywhere on the bus, waiting in a queue.

If you do not have a place to study come into school and use the library.
