THE PARENTS & FRIENDS ASSOCIATION.
The partnership between school and parents is much enhanced by this Association. It brings together parents, friends and teachers in extremely enjoyable events and it gives great support to the School's activities, both financially and with direct practical help.
The central aim of the Association is to bring parents and friends into the school to play their part in generating that sense of a supportive and happy community which is so important to the education of the boys. As well as providing that personal support from its members the Association has provided much financial support for equipment, furniture and fittings and decoration in the School. Furthermore the Association was very active in the debate about the future of the school and the eventual move to grant-maintained status.
The Committee of the PFA has on it at least one representative for each form. Year 7 parents are asked to volunteer shortly after their sons join the School. There is much enjoyment to be had from membership of this extremely friendly committee. Many parents stay on long after their sons have left the School, being then classified as 'Friends'.
The Association runs a popular and successful 200 Club, and parents and friends are always welcome to join.
