Business Studies relates to the real world of business and the community. Pupils at GCSE are able to investigate the relationship between business activity and the environment within which it takes place and also study the structure, organisation and control of the main forms of business. The dynamics of the business world are best appreciated by visits to, and contact with, local and national organisations; throughout the course there is a planned programme of visits and speakers.

At AS/A level the approach to the study of the subject is more centred on problem solving. Topics include Economics, Marketing, Accounts, Production, and Human Resource Management. Whilst the course provides a suitable route for progression for candidates of GCSE Business Studies, the course can be reasonably undertaken by candidates new to the subject.
